Nagomi is a balanced blend of Okumidori and Yabukita, created specifically for usucha. The cup is smooth and well-rounded, with gentle umami from Okumidori and a fresh, green clarity from Yabukita. The flavour is soft rather than sharp, making it easy to drink while still offering depth and character.

This matcha is suited for everyday preparation. It works beautifully on its own as usucha and is approachable for those new to matcha, while remaining satisfying for regular drinkers. Nagomi invites a calm, steady rhythm — a matcha you can return to, cup after cup.

Grade
Our approach to grade

We do not use terms such as “ceremonial grade.” These labels are often vague and do not reflect how matcha is traditionally understood or used in Japan.

Instead, we select and describe our matcha according to its intended use. This approach is rooted in respect — for the farmers who cultivate the tea, and for the tea ceremony practitioners (chajin) who have shaped how matcha is prepared, shared, and understood over generations.

Each matcha is chosen for how it performs in practice: whether it is suited for usucha or koicha, how it behaves in the bowl, and how its flavour unfolds when prepared correctly. For us, this is not about ranking quality, but about clarity of purpose and cultural continuity.

Terroir

Our matcha is sourced from a small, family-run tea farm in Uji, Kyoto. We work closely with the producers and select teas based on intended use, season, and consistency, maintaining a direct relationship built on trust, respect, and long-term collaboration.

Preparation

Prepare as usucha using 1.5–2 g matcha and 70–80 ml water at 70–80 °C. Whisk until smooth and lightly foamy.
