Description
This compact and lightweight Tokoname-yaki Kyusu is crafted from traditional unglazed red clay (Shudei 朱泥) and features a finely engraved surface that is pleasing to both the eye and the hand. The classic side handle makes it comfortable to use and ideal for brewing Japanese green teas such as Sencha, Genmaicha, or Kukicha.
This model is an Ōbaru Kyusu (おーばる急須). A small space between the pot’s bottom and the built-in fine stainless steel mesh allows water to drain completely after pouring, preventing the tea leaves from over-steeping or becoming soggy. It also reduces clogging, making the pot especially suitable for deep-steamed Sencha (Fukamushicha), Konacha (powder tea), or even black tea.
A perfect choice for everyday use or as an entry-level Kyusu for those new to Japanese teaware.
