Tokoname-yaki
This Tokoname-yaki Kyusu was handcrafted by Shunjugama (春秋窯), a pottery studio in Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture — one of Japan’s six traditional kiln sites. Made from smooth, unglazed Tokoname clay in a deep black-brown hue, the teapot features a subtle horizontal wheel-thrown texture.
Its surface is delicately decorated with hand-painted cherry blossoms (Sakura), giving it a seasonal and graceful character. Inside, the teapot is fitted with an Obi-ami (帯網) fine stainless steel filter integrated along the rim, making it ideal for brewing Japanese green teas such as Sencha or Gyokuro without clogging.
Lightweight and well-balanced, this Kyusu is suited both for daily tea rituals and as a refined gift for lovers of Japanese teaware.
